Cosmetic Injectables

Neuromodulators, also known as Botox or Jeuveau are developed from a bacterium that helps to produce botulinum toxin, which blocks nerve activity to the muscles. Cosmetic Injections are most widely used and known for its amazing anti-aging effect on wrinkles. It takes years off your face, which is the first thing people see when they meet you. With a Cosmetic Injections, you can temporarily fight mother nature’s effect on the aging process and get back to feeling attractive again. It is a cost-friendly and a non-invasive alternative to surgical procedures and is used to target these cosmetic challenges:

  • Moderate to severe forehead lines

  • Crows feet

  • Frown lines

  • General wrinkles

For those areas that are treated with the Botox or Jeuveau procedures, results can be seen in as little as10 days. Wrinkles do not disappear but are relaxed to decrease their appearance. Deeper lines will become less visible while finer lines will be completely unnoticeable. Over time, your muscle activity will eventually return to normal and the neuromodulator will begin to wear off. Botox lasts anywhere from 3-6 months, with 4 months being the average.

*Risks are very minimal with neuromodulator procedures, but they still exist. It’s important to determine whether you are a good candidate for cosmetic injections or not. Some things you should be aware of include:

Risks – After the procedure, some patients may experience a headache, flu-like symptoms, or pain. For additional safety and risk mitigation, the FDA recently added a requirement called REMS, or Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy to address risks associated with Botox that lead to breathing, swallowing, or central nervous system issues. The evaluation is aimed at a specific population that may be at higher risk of developing these health issues as a result of higher doses of Botox injections.

Avoid – For patients who are allergic to eggs or suffer from neurological diseases, cosmetic injectables are not recommended. If you are under the age of 18, pregnant, or breastfeeding, Botox & Jeuveau are not recommended.
